Welcome to AlBarsha1.ae. We run an online business directory and community guide for Al Barsha 1, Dubai. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what choices you have.

By using our website, you agree to the practices described here. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

1. Who We Are

AlBarsha1.ae (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a local directory that helps residents, visitors and businesses find and share information about places and services in Al Barsha 1, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to run the site and keep it useful.

Information you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored in protected (encrypted) form.
  • Listing details: business name, address, phone number, website, opening hours, photos, descriptions and the name of a contact person.
  • Reviews and comments: ratings, written reviews, replies and any photos you upload.
  • Messages: anything you send us through a contact form or email.
  • Newsletter details: your email address, if you sign up for updates.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, our systems and our partners may collect:

  • Your IP address, browser type, device type and operating system
  • The pages you view, how long you stay and the page that sent you to us
  • Your approximate location (city or country level, not your exact position)
  • Data from cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy)

Information from other sources

We may also use publicly available business information, such as a company’s own website or public listings, to build and update directory pages. This is information about businesses, not private information about individuals.

  • Contract, when we need your data to give you an account or publish your listing.
  • Legitimate interests, such as keeping the site secure and improving it, as long as your rights are not outweighed.

5. Advertising and Google AdSense

We may show ads on our site through Google AdSense and other advertising partners. This is how we cover the cost of running a free directory.

Here is what that means for you:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to show ads based on your earlier visits to our site and other sites.
  • Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to show you ads based on your browsing on our site and other websites.
  • You can turn off personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings.

We don’t control the cookies set by advertisers, and we don’t share your name or email address with them.

8. Public Content

Reviews, comments and listing details are visible to everyone and may be found through search engines. Please don’t post private information such as your home address, phone number or ID details in public content. If you posted something by mistake, contact us and we will help you remove it.

10. How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the reasons above.

  • Account data: until you delete your account, plus a short period for security and legal reasons.
  • Reviews and listings: while they remain on the site, or until you or the business owner asks for removal and we approve it under our policies.
  • Messages: usually up to 24 months, or longer if needed to resolve a dispute.
  • Analytics data: usually up to 26 months.

When we no longer need data, we delete it or make it anonymous.

11. How We Protect Your Data

We use sensible security measures, including secure connections (HTTPS), controlled access to our systems and regular software updates. No website can promise perfect security, but we work hard to protect your information. If we find a data breach that puts your rights at risk, we will act quickly and inform the people affected and the authorities where the law requires it.

14. Children’s Privacy

AlBarsha1.ae is meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us personal data, please email us and we will delete it.

15. Links to Other Websites

Our directory links to websites run by other people and businesses. We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content. Please read their privacy policies before sharing your data with them.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top. If the changes are important, we will add a notice on the site. Please check this page now and then.
