Reviews help people in Al Barsha 1 choose where to eat, shop, stay and get things done. For reviews to be useful, they must be honest and fair. This policy explains our rules, how we check content, and what to do if you think something is wrong.
Who Can Write a Review
Anyone aged 18 or older with an AlBarsha1.ae account can post a review. You should write only about a business you have personally visited, used or contacted. Each person may leave one review per business, though you can update it later if your experience changes.
What a Good Review Looks Like
- Based on your own real experience
- Clear and specific: what you ordered, what service you received, and when
- Fair and polite, even if the experience was bad
- Focused on the business, its staff and its service
What Is Not Allowed
We will not publish, and may remove, content that:
- Is fake or paid for. This includes reviews from owners, staff, relatives or competitors pretending to be customers, and reviews written in return for money, gifts or discounts without disclosure.
- Is abusive or hateful. No insults, threats, harassment, or attacks on someone’s religion, nationality, gender, race or background.
- Is false or defamatory. Don’t accuse a person or business of crimes or wrongdoing you can’t support.
- Shares private details. No phone numbers, home addresses, ID numbers or photos of staff or customers without their permission.
- Is spam. No ads, links, promo codes or repeated copy-pasted text.
- Is off topic. Rants about politics, unrelated services or personal disputes don’t belong.
- Is adult, violent or illegal. No explicit, graphic or unlawful content.
- Copies someone else’s writing or photos.
- Breaks UAE law.
How We Moderate
We use a mix of automatic filters and human checks.
- Automatic checks. Our tools look for spam, banned words, duplicate text and unusual patterns, such as many reviews from the same source in a short time.
- Human review. Our team looks at reviews that are flagged by the system or reported by users.
- Ongoing checks. We may review published content again at any time.
We don’t remove a review just because it is negative. We remove content that breaks these rules.
How Ratings Are Shown
The star rating on a listing is based on approved reviews posted on AlBarsha1.ae. Where a rating or review count comes from another source, we clearly label that source. We don’t change ratings for money or favors.
Business Owner Replies
Verified owners can reply publicly to reviews on their listing. Replies must follow the same rules as reviews: polite, truthful and free of personal details. Owners may not offer rewards in exchange for removing or changing a review.
Incentives and Conflicts of Interest
If you were given a free product, discount or payment for your review, you must say so. Businesses must not ask only happy customers to review them (“review gating”) or pressure customers to leave positive ratings.
Reporting a Review or Comment
If you think a review breaks our rules, click the “Report” option next to it (where available) or email info@albarsha1.ae with:
- The link to the review
- Your name and your relationship to the business (customer, owner, other)
- A short explanation of the problem, with evidence if you have any
We aim to look at reports within 7 business days. We will remove content that breaks our rules. If we keep it, we may explain why.
Disagreeing With an Opinion
A review that says something you don’t like is not always a rule violation. If a review is honest but negative, the best step is to reply politely as the owner. If you believe it is factually false, send us a report with evidence.
Legal Requests
If a court or a competent UAE authority orders us to remove content, we will follow the order.
Appeals
If your review or comment was removed and you think this was a mistake, email us at info@albarsha1.ae with the subject “Appeal” and explain why. We will take a second look.
Consequences
Repeated or serious rule breaking can lead to removal of content, loss of posting rights, or closure of your account. We may also report illegal activity to the authorities.
